Austin DS2 A135 1949 MOT issue

Postby omally » Wed Mar 29, 2017 3:21 pm

Hi everyone I got the DS2 many years back and although the car was built in 1949 the logbook says first registered in 1960 I can only assume it may have been out of the country sometime in its early years but because the logbook says its 1960 they charge me for the MOT's im sure there has to be something I can do I've considered getting some kind of proof of its real age but unsure how to go about it or whether it would help

any help would be appreciated :(

I've got to add a cheap nice steering wheel wouldn't go a-miss  mine has the large horn ring which was broken off when I bought it

I'm sure Bryan Peebles could give you build date details in some sort of official format. Try him.

Hi everyone does anyone have a schematic to the SheerlinePrincess carb im trying to set the carb up but its unlike any carb ive worked on before and am unsure which is the mixture screw or what the numerous blanking screws seem to be for

Original Carb:- Stromberg Makers No: C1123 (stamped on float chamber cover).
Replacement carb fitted to members Sheerline:- Stromberg Makers No: C1216 DBVA42
My carb has C1123M on it

Best Regards to everyone
