Sorry!

To name names publicly would be libellous, and in a public forum like this would be just stupid of me, wouldn't it.

Suffice it to say that you need to take appropriate precautions when dealing with this person.

Good Luck :)

How can it libellous, *if* it is true?

These things often turn out to be down to simple lack of communication I'm afraid :-(

Well, keef,

In my country (Australia), the libel laws have a number of tests (not just that the facts are true and can be proven) and even though my disclosure might meet them, I don't want to try it out.

Agreed. Sometimes this can be a result of lack of communication. In my case I placed the order (by fax), sent the cheque (which was cashed) and no goods were received. I couldn't contact the person afterwards (always out it seems !) to get an update on shipment. You tend to lose patience and money after a while, calling across the world.

If he's reading this he will know who he is, and who I am.

So it conceivably be a courier thing?

How long has it been since you paid and what form of shipment was agreed?

I've had things from the USA that have taken weeks to arrive; I should think things from Australia could take months if sent by ship?

If you'd care to PM me the fax no. I'll see if I can get a reply for you.

keef,

You are a gentleman and I thank you for your offer to assist. It was many years ago and I have since heard similar stories about this person. I just moved on and gave up.

I was surprised to find, however, that this person still had the gaul to have his name anywhere near the VPOC !

I've posted a request for a Princess 4 Litre R sump plug under parts wanted. Can you stir up any interest in getting someone to sell me one? Introcar said they'd supply a Bentley equivalent for half a King's Ransom !!

Unfortunately "lazy" parts suppliers rely on people doing just that, which is why they get away with it and go on to do it again :-(

Keep pressing - I had a chap diddle me on ebay, he's now in gaol because a few of us got together and persued him through the courts. Heaven knows how many people just gave up and wrote off their money.

Nigel
I pull 'em apart, and if you're lucky, put them back together again.
