I popped down to Goodwood's Breakfast Club on March 4th. This is a car meeting and breakfast that is held at the circuit the 1st Sunday of the month.

The theme of this meeting was best of British so I took my 1500 along and was very pleased with the reception it got. At the show there was some lovely british cars, a lot of Astons, Lotus, Triumphs, Austin Healeys, minis etc but only one Vanden Plas!

My girlfriend and I had a great morning (if not a wet one!)

On the subject of the Goodwood Breakfast Club:

For anyone who hasn't yet been, it is well worth going. However it is starting to become a victim of its own success and the numbers of cars attending has more than doubled since last year, so put your alarm clock on and try to get there before 9am.

You don't have to be a Goodwood Road Racing Club Member to go. Just turn up, entry is free provided your car is of the theme of the morning. For breakfast club diary, see www.goodwood.co.uk and look under 'Motorsport'. Breakfast is served in a tent by the trackside - sausages bacon and eggs all quality organic food from the Goodwood Estate. Not cheap but probaly the tastiest cooked breakfast you'll ever get.

The next Breakfast Club which is relevant to Vanden Plas cars will be on 29 August - for pre-1966 classics (sorry, 1300s, 1500, 1750s will have to park with normal cars away from the Circuit).

Tip: if you do go, take a cooler box and freezer cubes with you and go afterwards to the Goodwood Farm Shop in Halnaker on the Goodwood Estate - food to die for. Put your purchases in the cooler box and either put them in the freezer when you get home, or make a meal of it that night. The English wines they sell are also brilliant.
